Today, the Hong Kong Institute of Technology successfully passed third-party assessments for its compliance management system and educational organization management system, obtaining two system assessment certificates. This marks a new milestone in the institution’s standardized management development in the fields of research and innovation operations and academic education services.

The assessments were conducted in accordance with the international and domestic standards of GB/T 35770-2022/ISO 37301:2021 “Compliance Management Systems — Requirements with Guidance for Use” and ISO 21001:2025 “Educational Organizations — Management Systems for Educational Organizations — Requirements with Guidance for Use,” covering operational activities related to academic and research innovation management services at the Hong Kong Institute of Technology. The assessment process involved systematic verification across multiple dimensions, including organizational governance, risk control, academic service processes, educational service quality, and continuous improvement mechanisms, confirming that the institution has established a compliance control system and educational organization management mechanism suited to research and academic scenarios.

Compliance is the baseline safeguard for an institution’s steady and long-term development. The ISO 37301 compliance management system has established a full-process risk prevention and control framework for the institute’s research project operations, academic exchanges, industry-academia-research collaboration, and other business activities, promoting the orderly conduct of all business activities within a compliance framework. The ISO 21001 educational organization management system, meanwhile, focuses on academic and research service scenarios, standardizing the management processes for academic seminars, research cultivation, talent exchanges, and other activities. It enhances the quality of academic services through standardized management, better supporting the implementation of research innovation and talent cultivation.

Obtaining these two system assessments is not the endpoint of standardization efforts but a new starting point for continuously improving governance capabilities. The institute will take this opportunity to continue implementing system operation requirements, steadily improving its internal governance structure, strictly adhering to compliance baselines, optimizing research and academic service mechanisms, actively building collaborative innovation platforms for industry-academia-research partnerships, deepening the linkage of innovation and technology resources between the mainland and Hong Kong, facilitating the transformation of research outcomes and the cultivation of professional talent, and contributing to the development of regional innovation and technology undertakings.
